Coming into the New Year with a new dream job >>>>>
2021 really put me in my lane. I spent majority of this year being a store manager of a clothing boutique. My eight-month tenure there shaped me so much. I worked at a stable, money-making location that I further staffed with trained sales associates. I trained two assistants to catch me when my coffee wore off and kick me out when I needed sleep. I got to revisit my childhood games of playing dress up every week adorning mannequins. I would transform the store every month to reflect the closet of a young and stylish working woman. And the working women I would sell to became my allies and my friends.
By November, I felt fulfilled but also like a car running on vapors. I prayed every day for God to lead me to my next chapter. I brushed the dust off my resume, freshened up my professional profiles, and started applying for jobs.
By December I had three contenders for places I could see myself working at. God’s plan was within those three, but I called myself having back up plans just in case that didn’t work out. (HA!) God showed me over and over that what He has for me is for me!
I breathed, ate, slept, and dreamed my potential new job. I was researching and reading almost every day to keep my hope while working. I sparkled in my interviews and poured everything I had into selling myself. My faith AND my works worked for me. And God had everything work out EXACTLY as I needed it to.
I got the job! (The 10-year old Kyla in me still lights up when I say that.) I feel like the fruits of my labor are here. I am a walking testimony. I strived to give God glory in everything I did while being the store manager of my last job, even when it hurt. Every late night, every stressful day, every tear I cried was worth it… because He invested it all in this blessing for me.
Where can you find me now? I now work for the number one luxury retailer in the world… Louis Vuitton! And it’s my first day so I need to get up and get ready LOL. 2022 is looking amazing. Updates coming soon!
